Varsity to resume activities on March 29

The Academic Board of the institution made this directive and urged students to return to complete the 2014/2015 academic year activities.

Academic activities at the  Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH, will resume on March 29, after being suspended since February 12 due to students' protest.

Registrar of the college, Mrs Biekoroma Amapakabo in a memo made this known, adding examinations will begin on March 30.

On Thursday, February 11, students protested the alleged negligence of the school's medical centre after the death of a Higher National Diploma (HND) II student, Dazan Charity, on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

“This is to inform all returning students that the academic board has lifted the suspension of academic activities for 2014/2015 session.

“Students are to resume academic activities on March 29.

“Accordingly, all returning students are to login to the student portal, download and complete a letter of undertaking to be of good behaviour.

“Students are to submit the duly signed letter of undertaking to their class advisers and collect examination dockets from the class advisers for the second semester examinations.

“Please, be informed that the second semester examinations will commence on Wednesday, March 30,’’ the memo read in part.

The memo also urged parents and guardians to counsel their wards to maintain good behaviour as they return to school.
