The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Angela Freeman Miri, while announcing the dismissal of the students at a press conference on Monday, June 1, 2018, said the university gave the dismissed student the opportunity to appeal if they are not satisfied with the University Senate's decision.
The VC said: “No university that is worth its salt will compromise its examination standards; and the Federal University, Lokoja, will not be an exemption,”
“The affected students were invited by the committee for questioning and the investigation committee found them guilty and then recommended them for expulsion,”
The VC added that the university had done proper investigations before taking a decision to expel the students.
