Pontiff shares 3 essential tips for successful marriages
Pope Francis has revealed the three important practices for every relationship and marriage. Find out what they are.
During his second “balcony talk” in Krakow, Poland, the Pontiff said; “Sometimes they ask me how to make it so that the family always goes forward and overcomes difficulties. I suggest to them to practice three words.”
The Catholic News Agency reports that these three words are "permission, thanks, and forgiveness.”
1. Permission: Concerning this, he said: "Always ask your spouse, the wife to the husband and the husband to the wife, 'What do you think? What do you think if we do this?''
2. Thanks: Secondly, Pope Francis encourages couples to always show gratitude. He stressed this “because it’s the spouses who confer the sacrament of marriage, one to the other. And his sacramental relationship is maintained with this sentiment of gratitude, of thanks", he said.
3. Forgiveness: The pope acknowledged how hard it can be to say sorry, it is "a very hard word to say", he added. However, he encouraged spouses to forgive because it “does a lot of good. When there is love, a gesture fixes everything", he said.
These words “can help to live married life because in married life there are difficulties", he added.
"There are always problems or discussions. It’s habitual and it happens that the husband and wife argue, raise their voice, fight, sometimes the plates fly.
But don’t panic when this happens,” Pope Francis said.
He urged couples to always make peace, before the end of each day, “because the cold war the day after is very dangerous.”
