Popular gospel singer and preacher, Deitrick Haddon, opened up in a recent interview on why he left his home and ministry after separating from his ex-wife, Damita.

Haddon said he’d impregnated his new girlfriend, Dominique Haddon, and then everything started to fall apart.

He later got a call from an old friend and fellow preacher, Zachery Tims, who had publicly discussed many of his own struggles. Mr. Haddon said.

“People need to know the truth about us men,” he told Mr. Tims. “We need to do a reality show about stuff like this.” Mr. Tims agreed. A few weeks later, Mr. Tims succumbed to a drug overdose in a New York hotel room.

Mr. Haddon said regretfully.

The singer said his recovery led to one of last year’s most invigorating and surprising reality television, Preachers of L.A. which will debut its second season on Oxygen.
