Starboy singer thrills fans with performance at Ghana Music Awards 2016

The pop singer gets the audience singing along to his hit singles as he introduces his newly signed acts to Starboy records.

Wizkid had fans yearning for more of his sound as he gave an impressive  performance at the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards held at the Accra International Conference Center.

The singer who was awarded ‘African Artiste of the Year’ on the night had the crowd singing along to his singles including 'Ojuelegba', 'Slow down' collaboration with  R2Bees among others.

Towards the end, he goes ahead to introduce to the audience his newly signed Ghanaian acts to Starboy records - Efya, Mr Eazi, and the R2Bees duo Omar Sterling and Mugeez, with Omar Sterling assuming the role of President, Star boy Entertainment Worlwide.

The singer's 'One dance' collaboration with Drake yesterday peaked to the coveted number one spot on the Billboards Hot 100 chart.

The starboy also recently emerged as the 11th best artiste on iTunes/Spotify global ranking with Adele,Justin BieberSia,ColdplayMike Posner,Calvin Harris and the late singer Prince making the top 10 list.

According to DJ Maphorisa, a co-producer on the 'One Dance' track, Wizkid will be working with Drake on at least three other singles. The singer's collaboration with American R&B singer Chris Brown and Nigerian-American recording artiste Jidenna has also been confirmed by Nigerian hitmaker Sarz to be on his forthcoming third LP.

The 'Ojuelegba' crooner's third studio album is set to drop soon. with African acts including Mi Casa, producers DJ Maphorisa,Oskido, Sarz  and new signings -  Efya, R2Bees and Mr Eazi as contributors on the album.

South African music producer, Oskido, after a recent listen to the album, came up with the conclusion: “It was a pleasure listening to Wizkid ‘s forthcoming album last night ….what a masterpiece! Beautiful collabos. It is definitely gonna open many doors for African artistes internationally……This album will achieved what no other African album has achieved before,” said the South African music maestro.
