The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe has said that the institution TV station will begin operation in February.
The VC who made the announcement on Monday, January 22, said the university is set to change the face of television broadcasting through its Mass Communication Department.
Ogundipe said, “We are ready to go on air, as we have all it takes to float a world-class television station.
“Right now, we have the cameras and other gadgets with a world-class studio.
“The approval to operate a television station will improve our branding; we are bringing professionals to help in kick-starting the station,’’
UNILAG TV licence costs N10 million
You'll recall that President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved the license for the University of Lagos TV licence.
Ogundipe who said the TV licence costs the institution N10 million thanked the president for granting the licence.
The VC also thanked his predecessor, Prof. Rahamon Bello and Prof. Ralf Akinfeleye of the Mass Communication Department, who pursued the dream of the first campus Television station in Nigeria.
