At a ceremony held in the school premises, Mimiko formally handed over the primary school to the Rector of the polytechnic, Professor Adedayo Fasakin.

The governor said the institution can use the school for take-off of academic activities, adding that the decision to convert the school was taken to meet the accreditation criteria.

Mimiko however assured the pupils that a new school would be built for them.

"But I want to plead with my pupils in this school that by the grace of God, we are going to build another befitting structure for them,” he said.
