Ex-Barcelona President wants Pep Guardiola back at the Nou Camp

The Spanish giants are currently going through a rough patch following the club’s 1-0 defeat to David Moyes’ Real Sociedad on Sunday.

The club’s director Zubizaretta was fired after the result and hours later it was Carles Puyol who quit his post.

Reports on Goal on Wednesday have it that the club’s former president, Juan Laporta who will be standing competition for the 2016 elections wants Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola to return to the club as sporting director.

Laporta in his first term between 2003 and 2010 where he won 12 titles for the team, brought in the former Spanish international in 2008 to turn around the club’s record for their most successive period.

The report also speculates that Laporta wants to bring in former coach Johan Cruyff in an advisory role and also would have a Barcelona player from Pep’s successive years at the club take over as coach.

Further look into the report suggests that Pep may be in agreement with the proposition.
