Teacher fired for posting student's picture with 'I hate you' message on Instagram

A Visual arts teacher at Skyline High School in Longmont, Colorado, Traci Gauthier, has been fired by her employers after her posting a picture of a student on her Instagram account with a 'hate' caption.

Gauthier, who was substituting for a day, posted a photo of a student, Phoenix Bowen, walking out of the classroom.

Her caption to the photo was deemed offensive.

"STEM kids are trying too hard. I don't know him, but I hate him. #pothead #STEM #wannabecool #dorkywhiteboy," she wrote.

Unfortunately for her, Phoenix' friends saw the picture and alerted him.

"You can't hate me, you don't know me,” he commented on the photo.

But rather than back off and apologise, the teacher went ahead to reply him with even more hateful comment.

"I know I don't know you-but I can hate anyone I'd like. #Nobig #Dontbesad #MeanArtTeacher."

Phoenix' father Erich Bowen told FOX31 his son's has shown a change in attitude since the incident.

"I can see a difference in Phoenix's attitude and the way he's handling himself.

"This is bullying. This is a lot of lines crossed."

The St Vrain Valley School District school board president Bob Smith said the teacher has been sacked.
