Former Real Madrid left-back Roberto Carlos is set to return to the club after leaving in 2007.

The Brazilian joined Real Madrid in 1996 where he spent eleven trophy laden successful seasons, playing 584 matches in all competitions, scoring 71 goals.

At Real he won four La Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League three times.

According to , the now 42-year-old is set to resume work with Real Madrid's youth levels.

"He will be the liaison between the youth academy and whom he shared a dressing room with between 2001 and 2006," the Spanish national sports daily reports.

Although his work will be primarily technical and educational,  Carlos will perform a variety of tasks with the youth levels.

Since retiring from football in 2012, Carlos has worked as a coach at Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia, Turkish sides Sivasspor, Akhisar Belediyespor and Delhi Dynamos in Qatar.
