The 13-minute clip which went viral on Tuesday after release, shows a boy - who appears be around 12, and an older fighter dressed in camouflage, standing behind a captive on his knees in an orange jumpsuit.

From the video, the older man makes a brief statement in French accusing the man, identified as Mohammed Said Ismail Musallam, of working for Israeli intelligence before the boy steps forward and shoots him in the head.

The child then fires at least two more shots into the body.

The Associated Press reports that authenticity of the video could not be verified, but it was released by the militant group’s media arm.

Daily News say Israel’s Shin Bet internal security agency announced earlier this year that 19-yr-old Musallam had left the country to join ISIS.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry declined to comment after Tuesday’s video was released.

ISIS last month published an interview with Musallam in the militants’ online magazine in which he confessed to being an Israeli spy.

But Musallam’s family, who live in East Jerusalem, denied the man was working for Mossad, the Israeli intelligence group.

The man’s father, Said Musallam, said he left for Syria four months ago without telling his family. He eventually contacted them from Raqqa, in northern Syria, saying he wanted to come home, his father said.

“I saw him with a long beard and long hair and a Kalashnikov,” his father said. “He told me, ‘Look dad, I am fed up here, it is a country of war, and I want to come back.”’

The family then received a call from an unidentified person who said Musallam had fled ISIS, was caught at a checkpoint and put in jail.

“They did not want to let him leave because if he comes back, he might be caught by the Israelis and tell them what he had seen, so they wanted to get rid of him". Said Musallam said.
