What do you do when you are faced with pain, anger, frustration, and prosecution?

Do you let your ego and pride take control of the situation or do you seize the opportunity to be used by God?

Luke 6:29 says, "if someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them."

As Christians, we are urged to constantly put aside our anger, ego, pride, human tendencies and show the World the God in us.

This is exactly what Paul means, when he says, "let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." (Galatians 6:9-10)

Matthew 5:44-45 goes on to say, "but I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."

Being a Child of God means constantly rising above the pettiness of others, and doing the right thing, even when it hurts or makes you seem weak.

We are encouraged to forgive and forget because God is already working in our favour.

Isaiah 43:18-19 tells us, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

In sad and bad times, when your human nature threatens to take over, hold on to God's words, which remain the same, throughout the ages.
