“I walked into OJB’s studio, very close to my school then(Mayday College Surulere), where the likes of Ruggedman used to hangout and then I told him I could rap, and he goes, ‘Ok give me 16 bars, and I dropped it, then he told me to keep coming anytime I want to, so I worked with a couple of artistes then, never really put anything out but I used to go there, learn stuff, hang out with them, and then I met  Sultan too who gave me my first stage name – OP meaning ‘On Point”, the young female emcee said.

Ms. Chief then goes on to say she used to perform music gigs when she entered the University of Lagos, and wasn’t too keen on the stage name ‘OP’ because if she were to be in a rap battle, it could be used against her by her opponents who may change it to ‘Off point’.

This birthed her present stage name ‘Ms. Chief’ which she coined from ‘Mischievous’ a character she believed was her most glaring character as she put it.

On graduating, the singer decided to go into music officially in 2011 and dropped her first single ‘Wanting’.
