Finn Russell held his nerve to kick Glasgow Warriors into the Pro12 final with the decisive conversion in Friday's 16-14 win over Ulster.

The Glasgow fly-half calmly slotted the ball through the posts with four minutes to play to complete a late comeback, after Ulster had looked on course to reach the final in Belfast at the end of May.

Chris Henry ran in the only try of the first half as Ulster - finalists in 2013 - took an 8-6 lead into the break, Russell and Stuart Hogg kicking Glasgow's points in a nervy encounter.

Ruan Pienaar, who had opened the scoring with a penalty in the first minute, added another two in the second half to give the visitors a 14-9 lead going into the closing minutes.

However, their defence was unable to withstand the constant pressure from Glasgow and eventually Gregor Townsend's side - who finished top of the table after a 32-10 win over Ulster last weekend - found a way through.

Russell's stunning pass found DTH van der Merwe on the right wing and he crossed the line and level the scores.

It fell to Russell to cap an excellent personal display and convert the points to take his side to the final, where they will face either Munster or Ospreys.
