Warriors star two-week timeline 'an educated guess'

The Golden State Warriors are predicting a two-week timeline for Stephen Curry's return, but that is nothing more than an "educated guess".

Warriors general manager Bob Myers emphasised to reporters on Monday that Curry's estimated recovery time from an MCL sprain in his right knee is a fluid situation.

"We took, to be honest, an educated guess," Myers said after Curry underwent an MRI earlier in the day.

"That’s no guarantee that it might be in two weeks. It might be after two weeks, it might be before."

Curry injured his knee in a game four win over the Houston Rockets after slipping on a wet spot on the court.

The NBA's leading scorer had missed games two and three of the best-of-seven series because of an unrelated sore ankle.

Myers said there was some worry Curry's injury might have been more severe, but the MRI was favourable.

"He was pleased at the outcome and so he's focused on getting back as soon as he can," Myers said.

The Warriors lead the first-round series 3-1.
