The 23-year-old beat out Victor Martinez of the Tigers and Michael Brantley of the Cleveland Indians, earning all 30 first-place votes.

Trout hit 36 homers for AL West champions the Angels, leading the league for RBIs (111) and runs (115).

"It's unbelievable, just to think about it," Trout told MLB Network.

"If you would've told me this before, when the season started, I would've just laughed at you. This is an unbelievable feeling. It's awesome."
