The Nigerian has scored ten goals in 12 appearances for the Luciano Spalleti's side this season, and he is one of the reasons they are topping the league table.
However, Victor Osimhen and Napoli's incredible run that saw them win their first eight games of the season, came to an end against AS Roma on Sunday
Victor Osimhen was caged by José Mourinho's team as Napoli dropped two points at the Stadio Olimpico.
How Mourinho was able to cage Osimhen and Napoli :
José Mourinho and his defender that Victor Osimhen is by far the best striker in the Italian Serie A League this season.
To win the game, they couldn't afford to let him touch the ball or give him more time and space to do his running behind the defense.
Players sometimes can get the best out of each other, and that was the reason Mourinho asked Gianluca Mancini to man mark Osimhen and sent Cristante after Lorenzo Insigne.
The moves worked perfectly as Mancini and Cristante tamed Osimhen and Insigne all through the game and Napoli struggled to enough scoring opportunities.
Mancini's performance epitomized the type of squad player he is and why it was treated as such a big blow for Osimhen who couldn't get the best of him.
José Mourinho's move to man-mark Osimhen might have just exposed the flaws of Osimhen to other teams in the division.
