Asuqu, an online platform that lets people hire professional freelancers in Nigeria, has secured seed funding.
R. Josh Musah, founder of the platform, revealed news of the investment, according to a Techpoint report.
The investment, the report says, is a result of weeks of meetings and Skype calls with two investors from Dubai.
The exact amount invested has not been disclosed, but Musah has confirmed that it is in the five-figure range with a Dollar denomination.
The investment will be channelled towards improvements on the product and building out complimentary products such as Asuqu Marketplace, Asuqu Elite and Asuqu SME.
Asuqu also plans to build out a proper market structure and "gain market trust over the next two quarters of 2017." It will also focus on increasing revenue in that time period.
