Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has issued a strong warning to Nigerians and political leaders across the country, urging them not to fall for what he described as President Bola Tinubu’s manipulative tactics ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released Wednesday, April 23, in Abuja, Frank accused the President of employing threats and ethnic blackmail to coerce southern opposition governors into joining the APC.

He claimed that at least five governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are under “intense political pressure” to defect.

"Tinubu is blackmailing Southerners while threatening to declare a state of emergency in their states over trumped-up charges of violence and corruption.

The Bayelsa-born political activist urged Northern leaders to recognise what he sees as Tinubu’s marginalisation of their region despite their support in 2023.

“If the North can’t see the omen of imminent regional stagnation and destruction, they will regret it,” Frank warned.

He described Nigeria as being on “autopilot” under Tinubu’s leadership and urged citizens to prepare to reject the President’s reelection bid.

“We need a unifying leader, not one who divides for personal gain,” he said.

Frank also called for unity among opposition parties and emphasised the need for a strong coalition to challenge Tinubu.
