This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Adebayo Taofiq, Head, Public Affairs, Lagos State Environmental Task Force and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Lagos.

``It observed that traditional chiefs and their relations use vehicles with different fake special number plates which contravene the Lagos State Road Traffic Laws of 2012.

``Investigations revealed that most of these council chiefs and their relations have special fake vehicles number plates being used to commit environmental and other crimes in the state.

``The government urged traditional rulers to check the excesses of their chiefs and relations within their domains by ensuring that all their vehicles with special traditional number plates are registered,’’ the statement added.
