Nissan is getting ready to build the World’s first bio-ethanol fuel cell car!

According to The Guardian, the Japanese company has plans to make a car that powers it's front wheels with electricity, produced by a mixture of ethanol and natural gas with oxygen.

Carbuzz says this fuel will either be pure ethanol or ethanol-blended water, that passes through a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell, or SOFC, to produce electricity for cars.

Ethanol can be gotten from renewable ingredients like corn and sugar cane.

Using this, rather than fuel, is expected to cut down on carbon emissions.

This is one of Nissan's measures to openly address "the infrastructure issues tied to energy supply in every region of the world”.

Unfortunately, this car may not be ready until 2020.

What do you think about this automotive breakthrough?
