Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James has no family Christmas traditions – because he always plays on the road.

The NBA learned many years ago it could score TV ratings gold by having its top teams and biggest superstars play on Christmas.

So the greatest NBA player of this generation, James, knows he can count on playing just about every Christmas.

James and the Cavaliers will visit the Golden State Warriors on Friday in a rematch of last season's NBA Finals.

That will make it 10 times James has played on Christmas Day in his 13-year NBA career. And seven of those games have been on the road.

When asked if his family had any Christmas traditions, James responded: "Not at all."

He added, via ESPN: "I won’t be with my family on Christmas, unfortunately. They’re not even here [in Ohio] right now.

"They’re in L.A. right now, actually. So, no, we have no traditions. If I can get a home game on Christmas, then we’ll have a tradition."
