St Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies win

The St Louis Cardinals opened their series against the Washington Nationals with a come-from-behind 8-5 win in MLB on Monday.

Down by two heading to the bottom of the seventh, the Cardinals rallied to draw level via RBI singles from Stephen Piscotty and Jhonny Peralta " before Jason Heyward's go-ahead, two-run double.

Kolten Wong got on base, scoring Heyward, with relievers Steve Cishek and Trevor Rosenthal doing the rest after pitcher John Lackey's strong start (one run allowed in six innings).

The Oakland Athletics scored 11 times off nine hits in their 11-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels, while the Los Angeles Dodgers took until after 00:30 local time on Tuesday to walk off 5-4 against the San Francisco Giants after 14 innings.
