Kansas City Royals pitcher Johnny Cueto delivered a complete-game shutout to see his team past the Detroit Tigers 4-0 in MLB on Monday.

Traded from the Cincinnati Reds in July, Cueto's first two starts were a no-decision and a loss " but his first win as a Royal was secured against the Tigers.

The Tigers never got a runner past second base, with just two runners even reaching the bag.

Cueto is the first pitcher to throw a complete-game shutout in both leagues in the same season since Cliff Lee did it for the Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Phillies in 2009.
