According to a Facebook user, Nkiru Ofoegbu, residents of the neighbourhood were pleasantly surprised at the sight as the mad woman had put to bed without any assistance.

Though no one knew who got the mad woman pregnant as no man had come forward to lay claim to the baby, some women in the area rose up to the occasion and rallied round to take care of the new baby as well as provide clothing items and food for the woman.

A female philanthropist was said to have rushed to a market and bought clothing items and other post-natal items for the baby while other women gave the new mother a bath and gave her new clothes to wear before taking her to a hospital.

This is how Ofoegbu captured the exciting moment:

"I am just thanking God for the life of this mad woman that just deliver a beautiful baby girl this morning in Bonny."

Efforts are being made for the baby to be handed over to the government while the mother will be rehabilitated while calls are being made for the father of the child to come out and claim it.
