Leading travel magazine, Conde Naste has named its top 20 best hotels in the world, and interestingly, two South African hotels made the cut.

La Residence located in Franschhoek, Cape Town and Singita Ebony Lodge in Sabi Sand placed 6th and 12th positions respectively on the top 20 list.

La Residence is described as a five-star establishment which is a favourite boutique hotel for millionaires and epitomises boutique luxury, also featuring a luxurious spa.

Describing the hotel further, CN had this to say:

"Surrounded by 30 acres of vineyards, olive groves and plum orchards, a five-minute drive from pretty Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands, this opulent country mansion is perhaps the most dramatic in Liz Biden's Royal Portfolio of hotels"

While Singita Ebony Lodge which is in fact a safari hotel located within the famous Kruger National Park was described as "South Africa's safari superstar".
