Bangladeshi cricketer replaces Anamul Haque for Bangladesh

Imrul Kayes will replace the injured Anamul Haque in Bangladesh's Cricket World Cup squad, the ICC confirmed on Friday.

Anamul hurt his shoulder during his team's six-wicket win over Scotland in Nelson on Thursday, ruling him out of the tournament.

Imrul, a left-handed opening batsman, has played 53 one-day internationals and averages 26.73 - including scoring one century.

Anamul had made 29 in both of his innings at the World Cup before injuring his right shoulder while fielding.

Bangladesh are eyeing a surprise place in the quarter-finals, sitting in fourth on five points ahead of a crucial match against fifth-placed England (two points) in Adelaide on Monday.
