The convicts who committed the offence at Ayangburen Road in Ikorodu area of the state, were arraigned before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye, on charges of attempted robbery and armed robbery.

Despite pleading not guilty to the charges, Justice Ipaye sentenced them to death, having found them guilty of the offence of conspiracy, armed robbery and attempted armed robbery brought against them by the state.

According to the prosecution, the offence is contrary to Section 295 subsection (2) (b) of the Criminal law of Lagos State.
