Bouchard will now face Angelique Kerber or Maria Sharapova for a place in the last four and insists the occasion will not get to her.
"I am really excited and proud of the way I performed," she told BBC Sport. "It wasn't easy, Alize is a great player and got so many balls back so I had to work really hard.
"I am very excited about reaching the quarter-finals but I need to stay focused and not get distracted.
"This is what I have worked so hard for but I cannot get carried away and distracted."
