Meet British businessman making millions of Naira selling FRESH AIR to the Chinese
This British businessman entrepreneur says he has made nearly £16,000 (7 million Naira) selling bottles of British countryside Fresh air to pollution-stricken Chinese customers for $155 (40 thousand Naira) each.
Leo De Watts, 27, from Dorset, England, living in Hong Kong, is selling the jars of air harvested from various locations in England and Wales.
"Quite often a lot of our orders are bespoke -- we have clients who request very particular circumstances for their air," De Watts said in a video on his company Aethaer's website.
"Sometimes we'll be at the top of a mountain, other times the bottom of a valley."
Watts, who sells the air jars at Hong Kong street markets, said he is offering a Chinese New Year discount, 15 jars for $12,000. (4 million Naira).
Watts said he has sold 180 jars of air since the company's inception a few weeks ago.
When customers open the bottle, the “experience” of inhaling the fresh-air lasts just a few seconds.
But some Chinese are also buying the air-tight bottles as novelty gifts that will never be opened.
When he was asked if selling air doesn't sound ridiculous, he said: “When someone bottled water everyone thought it was ridiculous, now you have Evian and Volvic - why not bottle air?
“We are priced as a luxury item - it is not for every-day customers. If they want something that is cheaper they can buy it."
His company is called Aethaer, which is from the ancient Greek word for pure fresh air.
