A former Manchester United and Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez has landed his first job as a coach.

Carlos Tevez has been appointed as the new manager of the Argentine club Rosario Central.

Tevez landed his first managerial position at the Primera Division club on Tuesday, putting pen to paper on a one-year contract until the summer of 2023. 

The 38-year-old former Manchester United and Manchester City star went into coaching following the death of his adopted father, Segundo Raimundo, last year. 

"Carlos Tévez is the manager of #RosarioCentral ! Apache became the new auriazul coach, after signing a contract with the Club for 12 months. Carlos "El Chapa" Retegui will be a member of his coaching staff," the club posted in a statement via their social media account.

Rosario finds itself sitting 22nd in the 28-team Argentine league with just four matches played in the second stanza of the league. 

Tevez, who started his career at Boca Juniors, is expected to prove himself by turning things around at the club that has only won just one of its last four matches in the league.

Tevez's first match in charge of Rosario will be at on Friday when Central welcomes Gimnasia LP at home in a Primera match.
