Luck gained 370 yards in total from 25 completed plays, including three touchdown passes.

The victory took the Colts above the Texans in the AFC South standings, with both sides on 3-2 records.

Indianapolis got off to a flying start at the NRG Stadium in Houston, with Adam Vinatieri's field goal followed Trent Richardson's rushing TD and Luck passes to Ahmad Bradshaw and Coby Fleener for touchdowns.

The Texans mounted a comeback, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick finding Andre Johnson with a four-yard pass for their first score before Arian Foster rushed for another TD.

Vinatieri's second TD of the half sent the Colts in with a 27-14 buffer at half-time.

Foster crossed again for his second TD of the match, to make it a six-point game before Hilton caught a 33-yard TD pass from Luck to give the Colts breathing space.

Their two-point conversion failed, meaning JJ Watt's 45-yard fumble return for a TD in the final quarter gave the Texans hope - only for the home side to come up short.
