Sauber's Marcus Ericsson cleared to race in British GP

Marcus Ericsson has been medically cleared to compete in the British Grand Prix and will start from the pit lane.

Sauber driver Ericsson slammed into the barriers at Stowe Corner during FP3 at Silverstone on Saturday, forcing the session to be red-flagged for over 10 minutes.

The force of the impact brought Ericsson's steering wheel away in his hands.

Ericsson was forced to miss qualifying as a result as he was taken to hospital for check-ups.

But, after receiving medical clearance to race, the Swede will look to come through the field and earn his first points of the campaign.
