Nick Kyrgios reaches first career singles final at Estoril Open
Nick Kyrgios progressed to his first ATP tour final as he came from behind to beat Pablo Carreno-Busta in three sets at the Estoril Open.
The 20-year-old Australian, seen as one of the brightest young talents in tennis, reached the clay-court tournament showpiece with a 5-7 7-6 (7-2) 6-3.
Seventh seed Kyrgios fired down 15 aces on the way to victory in Portugal.
He said: "I'm very excited to play in my first final. I thought I served well the whole match and got some chances on his serve. I kept pushing after losing the first set and I thought I hung in well."
Kyrgios will face Richard Gasquet in the final following the Frenchman's 3-6 6-2 7-6 (7-1) triumph against Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.
After recovering from a set down to force a decider, Gasquet broke in the first game of the third only to then be broken to love when serving for the match.
But Garcia-Lopez's resistance wilted in the subsequent tie-break, which Gasquet dominated to keep him on course for a 12th career singles title.
