A week before the awaited return of "The Walking Dead's 7th season, AMC has renewed the horror drama for an eighth season.

The eighth season of the zombie apocalypse series will premiere in late 2017 and will kick off with the 100th episode of the series.

The upcoming seventh season of "TWD" will reveal the identity of the important character killed off by villain Negan in season six finale episode.

Its season six finale episode which offered viewers their first look at Negan and his infamous Lucille, ended with Negan playing a game to decide who would be the first to meet Lucille.

The show's seventh season will comprise of 16 episodes, and will air in two parts, with the first eight episodes premiering October 23, and the final eight returning February 2017.
