The actress shared the heartbreaking news via a solemn post on X (formerly Twitter), where she asked fans and well-wishers for their prayers.

“22-06-2025. Kindly say a prayer for my father. May Jannatul Firdaus be his final abode. Ameen thumma Ameen,” she wrote.

Though Rahama did not reveal the cause of his passing, the announcement was met with an outpouring of sympathy and prayers from fans, celebrities, and industry peers alike.

Many responded with kind words, Quranic verses, and reflections on the impact of loss, particularly one as significant as a parent.

Rahama Sadau, 31, has long been a beloved figure in Nigerian entertainment, especially in northern Nigeria where she first rose to fame. Her journey began in school plays before she made her professional acting debut in 2013. 

She gained major recognition for her performance in Gani Ga Wane, a film that helped establish her as a household name in Kannywood.

She has starred in several English-language Nollywood films and made headlines with her Bollywood debut in Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2, sharing the screen with Indian actor Vidyut Jammwal.

Her career has been marked by a string of awards and commendations, including Best Actress (Kannywood) at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2014 and 2015, and Best African Actress at the African Film Awards in 2015. 

These accolades, along with her growing international profile, reflect her commitment to her craft and her ability to transcend cultural boundaries.

Beyond the screen, Rahama is also academically accomplished. She earned a degree in Human Resource Management from Eastern Mediterranean University in Northern Cyprus, a testament to her drive and discipline both in and out of the spotlight.
