English coaches should go abroad

England coach Eddie Jones believes more English bosses should broaden their horizons by working overseas.

Jones, an Australian, said he believed the Premiership was very isolated and that English rugby as a whole could be improved if local coaches returned from overseas stints with different ideas.

His comments follow former England coach Stuart Lancaster saying he would be interested in working in the southern hemisphere.

"I would 100 per cent recommend going overseas," the Australian told the BBC.

"There's good things in New Zealand, South African and Australian rugby and for English coaches to experience that would definitely help their development."

Jones also compared England fly-half George Ford's development to that of former New Zealand international Dan Carter.

"Carter was probably at his best aged 28," he said.

"He had moments when he made mistakes when he was younger and Ford is still only 23, so is going to make mistakes."

Jones is preparing England for a fixture against Wales on May 29, before a three-Test series in Australia.
