Here is a breakdown of how the players helped their respective teams in both competitions on Thursday night.

Dessers at the double, shares spoils with Olayinka's Slavia Praha

In a battle between two Nigerian players in the Europa Conference League clash between Slavia Praha and Feyenoord at the Sinobo Stadium in Praha, there were no winners as both sides shared the spoils in the four-goal thriller.

Slavia Praha were held to a 2-2 draw at home by their visitors with three of the goals scored by Nigerian duo of Olayinka Peter and Cyriel Dessers.

Olayinka opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Dessers equalised just after the half hour mark, 19 minutes after he replaced an injured teammate.

Jan Kuchta restored Praha's lead on 66 minutes but Dessers was not done as he ensured a share of the spoils with another equaliser, this time in stoppage time.

Dessers, 25, has now scored five goals in his last five matches for Feyenoord to effectively cement his position as the ultimate super sub for the Dutch side.

For Olayinka, his goal was his second in as many matches for Praha. Sadly, this time it wasn't enough to earn them all three points.

Ndidi nets first goal of the season, Lookman picks up assist

It was a wonderful night for the Super Eagles defensive midfielder and his club Leicester City after they sealed an important win at the King Power in the Europa League.

After failing to win any of their last five matches in all competitions, Leicester got off to the perfect start as goals from Zambia's Patson Daka and James Maddison whose goal was assisted by another Nigerian, Ademola Lookman, put the Foxes 2-0 ahead against Legia Warsaw.

Filip Mladenovic pulled one back for the away side on 27 minutes but whatever hope they had for a memorable turnaround quickly disappeared when Nigeria's world class midfielder Ndidi towered above everyone to head home Leicester's third of the night six minutes later.

The goal was Ndidi's first of the season and the Foxes held on for the win that puts them top of Group C.

Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho was a late substitute in the game after he replaced Daka on 85 minutes.

Still in the Europa League, Paul Onuachu was left on the bench for 90 minutes in Genk's 1-1 at Dynamo Zagreb.

Henry Onyekuru featured for just 46 minutes before he was substituted as Olympiacos left it late to see off Fenerbahce 1-0 at home.

Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey returned to winning ways courtesy of Rangers' 2-0 win at home to Sparta Prague.

Of the trio, only the impressive Bassey played from start to finish. Aribo was on the pitch for 81 minutes while Balogun was not listed at all.

Elsewhere in the Conference League

Stephen Odey was not listed for Randers FC's 2-0 win over Club Cluj. His compatriots, however, Tosin Kehinde and Vincent Onovo, were second half substitutes for the home side.

At the Sammy Ofer stadium in Hafia, in-form Taiwo Awoniyi was expertly caged for 74 minutes by the home side Maccabi Haifa. But Awoniyi's Union Berlin still managed to leave with all three points after 0-1 win.

Finally, despite making five saves, Francis Uzoho still conceded two goals as Omonia Nicosia played a 2-2 draw away to Qarabag FK.
