What God wants, and how to please Him is a major concern for a lot of Christians.
We are constantly trying to do things that our pastors, parents, so on have told us in a attempt to ultimately please God.
In all of this, we often overlook the one thing that He really wants, which is our hearts.

Why does He wants our hearts? It is because everything comes from there.
Proverbs 4:23 supports this by saying, "above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life."
This explains why God seeks this part of us.
However, our Heavenly father does not just a heart, He wants a pure one.
In Proverbs 23:26, He says, "My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways."
2 Timothy 2:21 adds, “If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work."
Having a pure heart provides room for God to work through you.
It leaves the opportunity for His name to be glorified and for others to see Him in you.
No wonder, David said, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me," in Psalm 51:10.
How do we have or maintain clean hearts, which make us worthy of being used by God?
We do this by abstaining from sin, which is the only thing that separates us from God.
Galatians 5:17 tells us why it is important to stop sinning, "For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want."
2 Timothy 2 adds, " Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work."
Hebrews 12:14 goes on to say, "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy;
Praying, doing good works, sleeping in church, preaching the word may amount to nothing if your heart is not pure and holy.
So, let us pray like David did for God to cleanse our hearts, forgive us of our sins, so that we may be "instruments for special purposes."
