Double Commonwealth champion, Blessing Okagbare has spoken about poor outing at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.
Okagbare finished last in the 100m final finishing a poor 11.02 and also missed out on the 200m event because of a hamstring injury.
Her outing in Beijing has generated lots of remarks but the Delta-State born sprinter is still confident that she can come back from it.
In a Facebook post Okagbare described her outing at the World Championship as the the worst in her career but will remain undaunted in chasing her set goals which is to be one if not the best in what she does.
“Hi everyone, I really want to thank and appreciate my family, friends and true fans for all the love, support, calls, messages and emails from you guys," she said in the Ffacebook post.
"You have all made the last/worst 3 days of my career the best ever. From the bottom of my heart, I am extremely grateful.
“As for the snakes blowing the trumpet and wishing I have tested positive on drugs, keep wishing on your own downfall because, I am so more than what a(sic) foolish journalism, critics, haters and those who call me Warri instead of Nigeria when I don’t win, is made of.
“I am self-motivated, confident and work hard which I am extremely proud and I owe no one an explanation win or lose.
"Not everyone who opens their mouth to talk or write with a pen in the name of journalism, have their sanity intact and they know themselves."
