The Gunners started the match on a slow pace, with their 4-0 defeat at Southampton on matchday 18.

It took Arsenal 27 minutes before they could find the lead through set pieces.

Gabriel Paulsita was on hand to head in a corner from Mesut Ozil for Arsenal’s opening goal.

Arsenal thereafter began to threaten through set piece as Bournemouth defence found it had to deal with Ozil’s pin point crosses.

Ozil found Theo Walcott with another fine pass but the forward could not hold on to the ball to finish with only the goalkeeper remaining.

Bournemouth started brightly in the second half and could have gotten the equaliser though Joshua King, but the forward was prevented by a last ditch tackle by Gabriel.

Ozil step up again but this time did it himself by finishing through the legs of Bournemouth goalkeeper Boruc after a lovely one-two with Olivier Giroud.
