In anticipation of its 2016 edition, the Ake Arts and Book Festival has announced the call for entries for its annual journal, the Ake Review.

The theme for Ake Arts and Book Festival 2016 is BENEATH THIS SKIN. Participating writers, artists, poets and creatives are encouraged to submit works that centers on issues around identity, race and individuality.

Poetry - a maximum of three poems

Prose – a maximum of 1600 words

Artwork – a maximum of 2 works in high-res jpeg

Include a bio of no longer than 70 words

Submission Guidelines:

All entries must be submitted via email to editor@akefestival.org as attachments with 'AR Submission' in the subject line.

Entries must be original and unpublished

Only one submission per person

Deadline for entries is Friday 26 August 2016
