Anthony Martial was the star for Manchester United as they beat Southampton 3-2 away at St. Mary stadium on Sunday, September 20.
The 19-year-old start for Louis van Gaal's men and rewarded the faith of the manager in him with two goals.
Southampton started the game as the brighter side and United had their goalkeeper David de Gea to thank.
Sadio Mane troubled the United defence with his pace as Southampton were clearly the better side,.
They got the deserved opener in the 13th minute through Graziano Pelle.
A cross from Ward-Prowse from the right was met by Mane but De Gea's outstretched hand kept it out before Pelle punched on the rebound to open scoring.
Pelle hit a post some minutes later after turning past Blind.
United got their leveler though it should have been ruled out for offiside.
Southampton cleared a ball but their former midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin headed it back into the penalty area.
Juan Mata who was in an offside position got the ball biut was challenged by Maya Yoshida. The lose ball however got to Martial who twisted Van Dijk to drive the equalizer past his former Monaco team-mate, Maarten Stekelenburg.
He added his second in the 50th minute, racing on a lose back pass from Yoshida to put United in front.
De Gea was in impressive form preventing a Southampton equalizer as he pulled off a fantastic save to keep out a header from Dusan Tadic.
Juan Mata scored the third for United, pouncing on a Memphis Depay shot which had hit the bar.
Pelle headed in a Mane cross in the 85th minute but Manchester United were once again saved by De Gea who kept out a Victor Wanyama to take three points back to Old Trafford.
