Just weeks after Angel Di Maria and his family were moved from their Cheshire home following robbery attempt, his club and country teammate, Marcos Rojo is latest on the list of attempted robbery victims.
Rojo's Argentine home was targeted by criminals who held his mother and father hostage at their home in La Plata, a run-down city to Buenos Aires, assaulting his father with a gun in the process. All in an attempt to have share of the player's bulky wages at United.
The player's sister Noelia blew the alarm on the ordeal, disclosing that they live in constant fear.
'We are always scared. They target us because of Marcos,' she told The Sun.
'They know the house, everyone knows. We have to take every precaution and we don’t answer the door to anyone.
'We had to put bars on all our windows — the front, the back and the doors upstairs. It’s dangerous being Marcos Rojo’s family. But we won’t leave because this is our home.'
Players based in England have come under robbery attacks in recent times with Southampton's Victor Wanyama and Darren Bent reported to have lost valuables to the criminals.
