Nigerian athlete
The winter sports athlete finished third overall in the ‘Skeleton' held on Thursday, January 11 at Lake Placid, New York to book a place at the Winter Olympics.
The 'Skeleton' event is a winter sport which involves the athlete riding a small sled referred to as Sleigh or skeleton bobsled and slides down, faced down and slides through a frozen track.
Simi had her family members, bobsled team and well-wishers who were at the qualification race to encourage and cheer her.
Now that she has qualified, she joins fellow compatriots Ngozi Onwumere, Akuoma Omeoga and Seun Adigun who form a team of driver and brakemen that earlier emerged as the first athletes who qualified to represent Nigeria at the winter Olympics.’
Big congratulations to Simidele Adaegbo from all of us at Pulse sports.
