Soyinka says President is "under a trance"

Soyinka said he's eager to tell the president that he is under a trance.

While speaking at a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, Soyinka said he's eager to tell the president that he is under a trance.

He further said that the president is making errors that are getting in the way of his administration's progress.

He said, "I would say, 'Mr President, I think you are under a trance.' The sooner he gets out of it the better. So many unforced errors are going on.

"Take for instance the suspended Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Usman Yusuf,  reinstated by the President. What is that about? What is going on?"

The press briefing on Tuesday titled "Nomads and Nation: Valentine card or valedictory rites" is a reaction to the spate of killings involving nomadic herdsmen all over the country.
