Soldier killed in Gulak clash with Boko Haram

Three other soldiers were injured during Monday's attack.

According to a statement signed by Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, in Abuja on Wednesday, November 8, the soldier died as troops of 28 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole engaged the terrorists.

The statement read, "The soldier died from the impact of shrapnel from a detonated Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED), while three other soldiers were injured by the VBIED mechanism.

"The troops successfully repelled the Boko Haram terrorists' attack in Gulak and neutralised the VBIED mechanism while the terrorists attempted to infiltrate Gulak town."

Three other soldiers were injured by the device during the attack and are receiving medical attention in a military hospital.
