Would you stay off all sexual acts in a relationship?

The idea sounds cool and fine to some and to some others, it is absolutely ridiculous that a young man and woman who are romantically involved with each other will go through countless dates, several hangouts, exchange romantic messages, do every sweet thing people in love do and somehow keep sex out of the equation.

It's why premarital sex and relationship celibacy remains one hot subject that has polarized and split opinions for as long as one can remember, and continues to do so till the time of this piece.

“I have sex all the time,” says Lotanna.

“I kinda feel bad afterwards because I’m a Christian and all that, but I don’t think it’ll make me stop.”

For Bisola,a young lawyer in Lagos, celibacy is first a personal decision before any other thing.

"I don't have premarital sex primarily because it's safe.

"I don't have to worry about getting pregnant and all the drama that comes with it.

"And of course, it's what my bible tells me. This is a secondary reason because I'd have still stayed off sex even if wasn't a Christian."

Bisola's response is a common one. One that a lot of other millennial like her wouldn't think twice about before giving.

But when it comes to other sexual acts like erotic cuddles, kisses, smooches and the likes, the response often changes.

“Why won't I kiss?” Bisola retorts when asked if she could forfeit kissing boyfriend.

I didn’t ask, but the likelihood is that she’d have no qualms with smooching, necking and being sexually fondled either.

“I am a touchy touchy person,” says Dammy, a 24-year old writer in Lagos.

“So, not being able to kiss and cuddle is a no no for me, I’m sorry.

“I could stay off sex for the longest time, but I’d have to kiss my boo, please”

Apparently, it's easy to say yes to a relationship without sex.

But how about one where there's no kissing, no touching, no oral sex and those other acts that have nothing to do with penetration but make you feel so good?
