The two ceremonies were on a low-key as the Vice President insisted that he did not want an elaborate wedding for his daughter given the mood of the nation.

Reports said that Osinbajo was pressured to make it a society wedding but he rejected all the appeals. He was said to have also warned guests not to spray money at the events.

It is believed that Osinbajo made the decision following the backlash that trailed PresidentMuhammadu Buhariafter he attended the grand wedding ceremony of the children of Governors Abdullahi Ganduje and Abiola Ajimobi of Kano and Oyo States respectively.
