A destination wedding is a really cool thing as it helps in making wedding days even more personalized and unique.

It also helps in adding more excitement to the day, by looking for a destination wedding instead of a simple wedding.

The hottest wedding venues include United Arab Emirates (Dubai), Paris, Brazil, Caribbean Islands etc.

While there is no doubt that a destination wedding bestows a uniqueness of the day, it also invites certain challenges that can complicate the matters, so, ensure you consider the below before you totally commit to the idea.

  1. Choose the Perfect Spot- The destination of your wedding defines not only the mood, but also the travel and time required to reach there. Apart from your wedding location, all the activities as well as the vibes must convey about your personal style and passions. For instance, if you both fell in love in Paris, then it would be a good idea to get married there.

  2. Organize It at Right Time- Before planning a destination wedding, you have to consider the weather , seasons, holidays and so on. Besides, you also have to send out invitations a month in advance to the guests.

  3. Take a Trip- Before choosing a destination for your wedding, plan a trip at least once there, if you can manage two or three trips, then that is just perfect. On the first trip, find out and book your important places, ceremony and reception spaces, and hotels for guests. In the next trip, you can look out for local suppliers such as caterers, florists etc.

  4. Know about Local Marriage Requirements- There is a legal aspect of getting married in a different country. It is advisable to find out about them in advance else it can complicate the matter later on. Some countries demand for "residency requirement", 1 day in Turks and Caicos and 7 days in England, which signifies that you have to stay in a country for a certain period of time. Although the residing period is small in countries, it can be more than a month, like in France it is 40 days, so, make sure you find out what the requirements are.

  5. Finding A Helping Hand- Destination weddings demand attention into various aspects hence planning for a wedding on your own will not be feasible. It is therefore wise to rely on efficient destination wedding planners who will take full charge of the responsibilities, researching and booking local vendors, taking care of the logistics and addressing last-minute issues. Hiring a planner for a destination wedding can provide solutions to unforeseen problems that can come up and the professional also ensures that everything goes smoothly.

Wherever you choose, remember to have fun and enjoy your special day.
